Meet Alyn Toalepai

American-born Samoan, raised by migrant parents from Samoa. My father retired as a project manager, and my mother retired after 33 years of teaching with the Compton Unified School District, followed by 12 more years as a substitute teacher.

I am the owner of Koko Creations Company, a family-owned business established in 2021. I bring over two decades of experience in the hospitality industry, having served in management roles across Montana, Hawaii, and Utah. I currently work as a regional auditor, covering Arizona, Utah, Idaho, and Alaska.

I also served for two years in Panama City, Panama, as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

As the President of the Utah Pacific Islander Chamber of Commerce, I’ve worked closely with state legislators to ensure that all voices—especially those of our Pacific Islander community—are heard when shaping policies that impact not just businesses but also families. Through the Chamber, we launched a scholarship for students from family-owned businesses, designed to support families who often have to pull their children from higher education to help meet financial needs. We also introduced the first-ever educator award within the Pacific Islander community. While our mission centers on the advancement and empowerment of Pacific Islanders, our work is inclusive and open to all communities.

It was essential for us to partner with organizations already active in classrooms to better engage and involve our business community. That’s why we maintain a close relationship with Junior Achievement of Utah. Their efforts to bring entrepreneurs and business owners into the classroom are vital—allowing students to see diversity reflected in leaders from their own communities. When you see it, you can be it.

Through this collaboration, we've been able to host conferences for high school students at local colleges and universities, showcasing a range of fields and professions they can pursue with their primary and secondary education. The work we do with and for our students plays a crucial role in their growth and future success.

My mother is the reason WHY I believe education is important.

My children are the WHO—and the reason I chose to run for Aspen Peaks School District, Seat 6.

My WHAT is shaped by my own experiences in public school and what I know I can do to make a difference.

My WHEN is now.
